UPDATED- 1:43 PM - We are experiencing a second round of power outages due to the transformer issues. We plan to use ancillary power through our generators. We anticipate interruptions to our phone and internet service during this outage. At this time, our schedule will continue as normal.
UPDATED - 11:04am - After an evaluation by Georgia Power and the fire department, we have been given the all clear to continue the school day as scheduled. Students and staff are returning to the building, and our phone system should be up and running in about 30 minutes.

August 10, 2023: A fire alarm went off at Claxton Elementary this morning. Out of an abundance of caution, students and staff have been evacuated, and the fire chief and emergency services were dispatched to the building. We will update with additional information when it is available.
