Evans County Charter School System

September 12, 2024: The Claxton Police Department (CPD) arrived at Claxton Middle School (CMS) this morning and removed a student from campus for alleged terroristic threats made with another person, in another state, through SnapChat.  The communication was intercepted by Homeland Security and directed to the CPD.  We have been informed by the CPD the alleged threat was not directed at any Evans County Schools, and there is no immediate threat to our schools. The Claxton Police Department is conducting a complete investigation.  At this time schools are operating under normal protocols.
